The styling of the old school camera lies in some plastic strokes on the body and around the lenses. This is probably where plasticity comes out most. The minute you touch is felt not like actual knurling, but like plastic that mimics Knurling. If that makes sense. Baudrillard would love it. I saw it quite functional, if not completely pleasant to hold.
A major improvement in the previous model is the new lens model, which matches what we have seen at almost every Instax released last year. Twist lenses to turn on, then curves further if you want to put it in the close focus mode. This is simple and intuitive and much better than access to mini 40 push levels.
This lens offers parallel correction, which assists in the nearby images (including selfie) by adjusting the “Focus” position in Viewfinder. And don’t be afraid, baby, there is still a mirror of selfie on the lens side.

The mini 41 is really mini, measuring 4.8 with 4 inches and only 2.4 inches deep. Weighs only under one pound (15.1 ounces) with battery and loaded film. Maybe it wouldn’t fit into the pocket of your pants, but it was small enough that I kept it around in a jacket pocket. The batteries are AA, which is beautiful. Catch yourself a Four packages of rechargeable AA And you will never have to worry about replacing batteries.
The images extract from the top of the camera and take about a minute and a half to develop. I have found that the automatic focus has worked well, and the adjustment between the normal interval and the narrow focus gives you a little extra control. (Be careful, however. The images where I missed Focus were all the images where I forgot that I had in the close focus mode.)
