Google announced this week At the beginning of October 25, he will not support or issue with software updates for the first and second generation Nest thermostats. And it will completely stop the start of new Nest products in Europe.
This means that the Nest thermostats owners released in 2011 and 2012 (as well as the version released in Europe in 2014) will not receive updates, and their equipment will no longer rely on Nest and Home applications. However, they will be able to adjust the temperature and schedules directly on their equipment.
“To fully invest in (future) progress and bring you the first features in our latest generation of Nest thermostats, we will move away from supporting our three older devices, each over an old decade,” Google said.
As for why it will no longer launch the nest thermostats in Europe, the company added, “Europe’s heating systems are unique and have a variety of hardware and software requirements that make it challenging to build for a variety of houses.” Existing nest devices will still be sold in Europe and the latest supplies.
