Bruce Logan, an English cinematographer and artist of effects Star Wars: A new hope and other Hollywood films, at the age of 78.
In a statement for Hollywood ReporterLogan Mariana Campos-Logan’s wife revealed that he passed on April 10 after a “short illness”. Last week, the daughter of Logan Mary Eulogized it InstagramRemembering him as “a rebel with a camera, a pioneer with my own story and hero. He was a visionary, director and pioneer with visual effects. My dad didn’t just work in movies – he did magic.”
Born on May 15, 1946, Logan began making animated films at 14 years old, who grew up in visual effects at the time he was 19 years old. In 2014He credited his father Campbell, who led some classic BBC dramas, teaching him how to hire a spicy screen, his first special effect. “My dad told me that every frame of a movie should be a perfect look,” Logan said at the time. “He is responsible for all my knowledge of the history of the film and to present me with the films of all the great filmmakers of the day, including Stanley Kubrick.”
Quite strange, Kubrick was the first director to give Logan his first loan on screen. At 19, he behaved as an artist with visual effects to 2001: a space Odyssey, and worked under VFX Doug Truk Supervisors. Throughout his 50-year career, Logan made VFX to Batman forever, plane, and the aforementioned Stars wars, where he was part of the second unit team that filmed the death star explosion. (He is even technically part of Blade Runner, as his work for the unmarried Zabriski pointe appeared in the opening titles for Ridley Scott’s Sci-Fi film.) His career in cinematography includes the first Roller AND Incredible shrinking woman, Plus music video for Prince and Madonna. He also briefly tried his hand in the film by running with 1986 Locations.
Together with his wife and daughter, Logan further survives another child, Campbell.
