If one thought Joel’s death in the previous episode of The last of us It was just a false counterfeiting, the third episode changed that right at first. District of the destruction of Jackson’s combustion, Wyoming, Tommy say goodbye to his brother before opening credit that did not include the name of Pedro Pascal. Not, Joel is not turning. But his wild murder in Abby’s hands was at the center of the action anyway.
Episode three of The last of us second season It’s called “The Road” and what the perfect title is. The episode worked to restore our emotions and expectations for what will come as Jackson’s people decide how, or if they will also take with Joel’s killers. It really placed us on the “road” for the rest of the season.
It has been three months since Joel’s death and Jackson used that time to rebuild, both physically and emotionally. Ellie spent the time in the hospital and finally healed. Before she could leave, she must see Gail. Gail wants to see how he is doing Ellie mentally, so Ellie simply tells her what she wants to hear. She is sad and angry, of course, but it looks strange in peace, which does not join the way everyone thinks she and Joel left things. Gail is skeptical about her well -being, but gives her right to leave anyway.
Ellie’s behavior with Gail is not the same as when she returns home. There she finds Joel’s watch, donated her from Tommy, and the things of Joel hanging in the closet. It breaks a little, just to be interrupted by Dina, which has some news. Apparently, while Ellie was in the hospital, she asked Dina if she remembered anything about the people who killed Joel and she said no. That was a lie. Now that Ellie has healed, Dina reveals that she knows where they are from (Seattle), what their group is called (the Washington front, AKA WLF), and even some of their names, such as the leader, Abby. Ellie is whispered Dinah kept the information, but looks eager to act. They talk to Tommy, who sympathizes but says they cannot leave without a plan. This plan includes bringing the issue to the whole city.
Before the episode deals with this, things with curiosity cut into a natural path outside the seattle. There, a group of people with wounds on their pages are walking and communicating through whistles. We learn that they are a religious group on the run from some kind of war. They look harsh but look quite harmless if they are not threatened. Some specific whistles find that they are threatened, and the whole group is hidden. A little girl asks an elderly man if they hide from the demons. The man says no. They are hiding from the “wolves”. It is a scene that feels a little abroad at the time, but it will be extremely important later in the episode.
At the city meeting, the Jackson Council must decide whether they are okay by sending a group of people to Seattle to kill Abby and her friends. It is a big issue, so the whole city is packaged to discuss it. Some do not think it is worth sending a better group of them, leaving the city unprotected, especially after the last attack. Others, like set, think it should happen to show their strength. Eventually, Ellie speaks and says she wants to go not only to take revenge, but because it’s what she would do for anyone else in the city. The whole goal of being a community is to have each other’s back and she wants them to have her and Joel. All arguments are convincing and visible, but eventually the Council denies motion 8-3.
The scene of the meeting was The last of us to its best. At the same time, moving the story forward, while also giving the audience much to think. Yes, of course, we want to see Ellie come out and find Abby who will clearly happen. But is it worth the risk of risking the life of others? Does what does the city take in return? While the show will soon make that choice for us, it was interesting in the interior this dilemma. Are you asking a lot of Ellie?
After all, it doesn’t matter. The loss of the vote was merely a formality. Like Gail and Tommy discuss beers in the short central field of a small game in the league, Ellie is going no matter what. It will only go if you need it, but it won’t. Dina appears in Ellie’s with a full plan on how to go to Seattle. She has the map, she has a list of supplies, she has it all. Dina is all that Ellie needs in her life and, we can see in Ellie’s eyes, she knows it too.
And so, with the help of Seth, Ellie and Dina they hit the road to Seattle. At this point, I essentially thought that the episode would end and travel across the country would receive at least the other episode or two. But The last of us There is no time for that. During a very short period at the time of the show, Dina and Ellie actually make it in Seattle in this episode, which is wild. But, of course, some major things happen along the way.
First, they visit Joel’s tomb. Very sad. Second, there are some soft flirting in a tent while discussing the New Year’s kiss. Third, Ellie and Dina decide that WLF are probably a small group as no one has heard of them and they will surely be able to beat them themselves. It will not be a great job.
That restores us to the wounds. Dina and Ellie find themselves on the same path we saw earlier in the episode and see the remains of a battle. On the side, Dina discovers a cleaning full of dead bodies, which makes it thrown up. When Ellie sees her, we see that she is the same young man and girl from the earliest episode. People were massacred, including women and children. And didn’t those who were hiding from the wolves said? Could they have thought that wlf?
Ellie and Dina reach Seattle and Marvel on its horizon. Everything looks calm and they like their chances. However, this is when we see Manny, played by Danny Ramirez, who was with Abby again in Jackson. He is on the observation for WLF we see is not a small group. It is a massive massive military presence. With tanks. And armor. And many and a lot of weapons. Finding and killing Abby would be difficult even if she was with a small group. Now it seems almost impossible
And so is the “road” set for the rest of The last of us Second season. Ellie and Dina are in Seattle Hunting Abby and against insurmountable disputes. Will they find it? Is it worth it? And what the hell is the story of this group?
